The Skerbeck Carnival Midway set a record on the Fourth of July, with more than $93,000 in sales for the day of the Bay City Fireworks Festival finale. The Bay City Fireworks Festival will receive 30 percent of the total sales from the carnival, said Doug Clark, president of the festival committee. "It was the best fireworks festival ever," Clark said. He estimates the crowd in Veterans Memorial Park was larger this year than last, but did not have an official count this afternoon.
