Summer 2009: Festivals, fairs, fun heat up season - Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.
The Big Butler Fair, held July 3-11, features everything from carnival rides to farm animal shows, concerts, and monster truck shows; the Westmoreland County Fair offers a similar lineup Aug. 21-29. The Pittsburgh Renaissance Festival, held Aug. 29-30 and Sept. 5-7 in West Newton, will celebrate 16th-century culture with merchants, crafts, live entertainment and food.
