Delaware State Fair ticket purchases delayed

Eager Delaware State Fair fans may have experienced some disappointment Monday after attempting to purchase tickets online to shows planned for this year's event. While the state fair Web site recommends purchasing tickets online, a message displayed Monday on the site said, "due to technical difficulties, the online ticket sales will be delayed until further announcement." MaryAnn Miller, a customer who attempted to purchase tickets Monday morning, said she was frustrated by the delay. "There was a lot of hype about tickets being available this morning," she said. "I am sure a lot of people made special arrangements to be near a computer at that moment to purchase their tickets. When it said the service was unavailable, it was an inconvenience." Danny Aguilar, the marketing and public relations director for the Delaware State Fair, said the decision was made to delay ticket sales Monday at 5 a.m. "We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused our customers," he said "We have spent the last 72 hours testing a new online ticketing process, during which we had discovered specific issues left to be resolved. "As a result, we did not feel comfortable making any tickets available (Monday) morning." He said the problem has been corrected and tickets will be available for purchase online Wednesday%2
